The Peotone Police Department is a full service police department consisting of nine full time police offers and seven part time officers. The department is a very well-trained and experienced organization that is dedicated to community policing concepts and service to the community. The Village of Peotone has a very low crime rate due to the dedicated officers in partnership with the citizens.

The Village of Peotone is in the Peotone Fire Protection District. The Fire District maintains a modern and well-equipped station at 7550 W. Joliet Road in Peotone. The District operates two ALS (Advanced Life Support) ambulances. The present ISO (Insurance Services Office) Fire Protection Rating for Peotone is a very favorable 4.
